My Mid-Year Book Freakout

You know how bloggers do the end of year survey's, well this is a mid-year survery. It was created by Chami and Ely A Book So Fathomless

1. Best book you’ve read so far in 2014.
This is hard because there is so many. Two Boys Kissing by David Levithan. I recently read it and fell in love with the writing.

2. Best sequel you've read so far in 2014.
The Shadow Throne by Jennifer A. Neilsen. Third and last book in The Ascendance Trilogy. I LOVE THIS WHOLE TRILOGY.

3. New release you haven't read yet, but want to.
There are so many new release I haven't read yet, but I will say Lies My Girlfriend Told Me by Julie Anne Peters. My library still didn't get it yet and it came out in June.

4. Most anticipated release for the second half of the year.
Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins. OF COURSE!!!!

5. Biggest disappointment.
  • Love Letters to the Dead by Ava Dellaira. This was a disappointment because the main character was immature and did some stupid things. I wasn't feeling the romance and if felt like it dragged on.
  • Save the Enemy by Arin Greenwood. The plot sounded good but once I read it, it was not what I was expecting. No character development. A lot of things were happening that made no sense.
6. Biggest surprise.
Angelfall by Susan Ee. I loved it. Great Characters and Fast Pace.

7. Favourite new author. (Debut or new to you)
Laini Taylor, Stephanie Perkins, Susan Ee

8. Newest fictional crush.
Peter Kavinsky from To All The Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han. In the decsription it doesn't talk about who these boys are. In the book when he is mentioned I thought he was going to be one of those jerks but he wasn't and thats all I can say without spoiling it.

9. Newest favourite character.
Karou from Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor.

10. Book that made you cry.
None, I'm not a cryer. But a sad book I read this year was A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness

11. Book that made you happy.
To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han

12. Favourite book to film adaptation you saw this year.
I haven't read any books that was made into movies.

13. Favourite review you've written this year.
I didn't do many reviews this year and my reviews suck, but I will say To all the Boys I've Loved Before.

14. Most beautiful book you've bought so far this year (or received)

Ink and Rain by Amanda Sun. I love how it is creative and unique with the watercolor. My dog licked the cover of Ink and now it looks bent.

15. What books do you need to read by the end of the year?
  • Isla and The Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins
  • Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor
  • Dreams of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor
  • Fan Art by Sarah Tregay
  • Grasshopper Jungle by Andrew Smith
