It's Monday! What are you Reading? (4/28/2014)

hosted by Book Journey

I'am currently reading The Shadow Throne, the 3rd book of The Ascendence Trilogy. I have 41 pages left to read and it is amazing. I love this whole Trilogy. Every book have action and something is always happening. The main character have tricks up his sleeve you will not know about until he is ready to reveal them and there is always a plot twist. The first book is The False Prince and the second book is The Runaway King

Life of a Blogger: Actors/Actresses

Hosted by Novel Heartbeat

Actor/Actresses

My type of favorite Actor/Actress are ones that catch my attention. Who can play a serious character in a movie and a funny one in another movie. I have more favorite actors then actresses because there are less of them and I don't see too many movies with female lead roles. I also have a problem with loving older guys who I will never get. :(

Favorite Actors

Johnny Depp - Love him, He has played so many different characters and he does them all good (Favs: Pirates of the Caribbean, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Secret Window)

Tom Hiddleston - Love him, his facial expressions is amazing and part of what makes him a great actor. He needs more movies. (Favs: Thor, The Avengers, Unrelated, Archipelago)

Will Smith - I grew up watching him on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, still watch it. (Favs: Men in Black, Bads Boys, I, Robot, Hancock)

Jim Carrey -  He makes me laugh. He made so many great funny movies but lately not so much. (Favs: The Mask, Me Myself & Irene, Yes Man, Grinch, Bruce Almighty, Ace Ventura)

Hugh Jackman, Mark Walhberg, Robert Downey. Jr, Denzel Washington, Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man. Daniel Raidcliffe (I really want to see Horns), Jamie Foxx, Dylan O' Brien etc....
there are a lot of actors I like/love but there is sooooo many to name and I can't remember at the moment. I also have favorite japanese actors but no one wants to know about that. Right?

AlSO EVERY BRITISH ACTOR :) (JK, maybe)

Favorite Actress

Jennifer Lawrence - I first seen her in X-Men: First Class and then The Hunger Games. I had no idea she was the same person. (Favs: The Hunger Games) I really need to see her other movies.

Zoe Saldana  - Not many movies I seen of her but enough to know she's a good maybe great actress. (Favs: Colombiana, Center Stage) I would say Avatar but I didn't really like the movie.

Chloë Grace Moretz - she is going to be BIG. she's a great actress and she's was in so many book-to-movie films and is going to be in more. (Favs: Kick-Ass (2), Let me in, Carrie)

Helena Bonham Carter - she's not really my favorite but in the movies I seen with her in I liked and its always with Johnny depp. (Favs: Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland)
Keira Knightley - I liked her in Pirates of the Caribbean, she needs to come back in a great movie.
Sandra Bullock - Not many movies I seen with her but she is a great actress (Favs: Miss Congeniality, Speed, The Heat)
Anna Hathaway - she needs more various roles (Favs: The Princess Diaries, Ella Enchanted)
Cameron Diaz, Drew Berrymore, and Lucy Lu: in Charlie's Angels and Charlie's Angel: Full Throttle, but I don't mind watching them in other movies too.

These are all the actresses that I can think of. The only one I love is Jennifer Lawrence because she is a great person, actress and is funny.

Who is your favorite Actor/Actresses?

Review: (ARC) Summer on the Short Bus by Bethany Crandell

Author: Bethany Crandell
Genre: Contemporary, Realistic
Format: Paperback (ARC)
Pages: 256
Publisher: Running Press Kids
Published: April. 1, 2014
Source: Own (won from yabookscentral)

Description: Cricket Montgomery has been thrown under the short bus. Shipped off to a summer camp by her father, Cricket is forced to play babysitter to a bunch of whiny kids—or so she thinks. When she realizes this camp is actually for teens with special needs, Cricket doubts she has what it takes to endure twenty-four hours, let alone two weeks.
Thanks to her dangerously cute co-counselor, Quinn, there may be a slim chance for survival. However, between the campers’ unpredictability and disregard for personal space, Cricket’s limits get pushed. She will have to decide if suffering through her own handicapped hell is worth a summer romance—and losing her sanity.

My Review:
I'm really in between with this book. In the beginning you see Cricket as this spoiled brat who speaks her mind. Her dad forced her to go to this camp because of something she did. But as time goes she finds out more about the camp, herself, and the Counselors. I didn't really like the romance, I loved other books where the characters fall in love in one day but this didn't catch my attention. Cricket didn't want to be in the Camp and then Quinn finds outs. I don't want to spoil anything but in the end Cricket does change. It was funny, it had me laughing at some parts.

Life of a Blogger: Food

Hosted by Novel Heartbeat

Favorite Food
Fish
Chicken (Cutlets, Drumsticks, Nuggets)
Turkey
Potatoes
Beef Stew
Patties
Rice
Corn Beef
Mac & Cheese
Hot Dogs
Burgers
Pizza
Funk Food
Chocolate

I can cook chicken, turkey, fish, pork chops (well, they all have the same ingredients so its not hard to forget) mashed potatoes, potato salad, mac & cheese. One time I made baked mac & cheese from the oven and it was good. All I remember was using milk, noodles, and I think a pack of shredded cheese. I make fries where I have to cut the potatoes and put them in the oil.

I made these cookies a couple of times. You have to buy the Betty Crocker mix and a bag of Hersey kisses. They are so good. I also make cake, brownies, corn muffin. To make these you will need eggs, water, oil.

Food I want to learn to make
Beef stew
Meat
Rice (I made rice once and it came out alright)
etc...

Favorite Fast Food Restaurant
McDonald's
KFC (I love there mashed potatoes)
Taco Bell
Chinese Store (I love going to the chinese place where I live, I either get Fries and Chicken Wings or Fries and Baby Fried Shrimp)
Dunkin Donuts (bagels or chocolate donuts with sprinkles)

Favorite Fruit
Apples (Green)
Green Grapes
Orange

Hate
I don't drink soda. I don't like Baked Ziti but I if someone makes it and I have nothing else to eat I will eat it which happened a couple of times already. Vegetables (except Carrots if they are in the beef stew)

What is your favorite food? Can you cook?

Life of a Blogger: Animals & Handwriting

Hosted by Novel Heartbeat

Last weeks topic: Animals

I love animals. I wished I lived on a farm and had as many animals as I could. When I was younger I always wanted a horse.
They are so beautiful

I also love foxes. I wish they were pets.

For Pets, I had fish, cats (one cat was an alley cat that my mom found in the street and she took it to our apartment. It would climb in and out the window. My mom taught the cat left but it came back. It's been years and we don't live in that apartment anymore but I was told that the cat still lives there.), hamsters, a rabbit, baby turtles and now I have a dog. I never taught I would own a dog and to this day I still can't believe it.

Anyways, I love animals. I would rather work with animals then people.

This weeks topic: Handwriting

Here is my handwriting. I write with my left hand. It can be somewhat neat and sloppy.

The more I write my hand gets tired and I'm in a rush, it gets like the picture on the bottom.

I don't know how to write in Script. :(

Prime Avenger Reads Questions

1.  What are you reading now? An ARC of Summer on the Short Bus by Bethany Crandell. Crap: How to deal with annoying teachers, bosses, backstabbers, and other stuff that stinks by Erin Elisabeth Conley, Karen Macklin, Jake Miller.

2.  What is your day job? If you’re a student, what’s your intended job after school? Sadly, I don't have a job at the moment and I am not a student.

3.  What is a movie/book you like that no one else likes? A movie I like that everyone else hate is The Last Airbender. To me it was ok, there was a lot of mistakes in the movie like the pronunciation of some names and other things. I really liked the elements.

4.  Do you have pets? Yes, a female miniature poodle for 7 years. Her name is Trixie.

5.  What was your favorite school subject? Ummm, the easiest subject, Art. To me it depended on the teacher. I had a English and History teacher in HS and they made the subjects more interesting but I still hated doing essays.

6.  How attached are you to the internet? I am REALLY attached to the internet. I can go a few hours without it but a week NO. I went to Florida for a week to visit my cousin and they had no internet or tv. I could only watch DVD movies. I didn't have no where to go because you need a car to go places and my cousin was busy with school and work. I was going crazy. The only time I would be okay without internet is if I go out of the Country.

7.  Would you consider yourself a ‘geek’/'nerd’? I guess I could consider myself a 'geek'/'nerd'.

8.  What is your ideal superpower? My Ideal superpower would be to control/make fire.

9.  Do you believe in fate? Yes and No

10.  What is your spirit animal? I really don't know. Aren't there different meanings  for spirit animal, like a person or a actual animal? I'm not sure.

11.  Do you ever talk to people in your head who do not, in fact, exist?  I don't think so, but I do like to make up stories in my head.

Innocent Smiley's Reviews Questions

1.  Who is your all-time favorite character?  Sage from The Ascendance Trilogy by Jennifer A. Nielson

2.  If you could change what happened in any part of one book, which book and what part would it be and why? The ending of Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma because someone dies and it was sad. I want to change that person from not dying. :(

3.  If you starred in a novel or a book series, what would be your ideal plot/scenario? Ummm, I want to be a witch or discover I'm a witch and these group of people are trying to kill me. This mysterious boy helps me and we have to travel to different places, get help from people. We start falling in love. Magic. Well it's common in books but who doesn't want that.

4.  What's the most unique book cover you've ever seen? Or do you have a favorite book cover? I have so many favorite book covers. I made a post about it HERE.

5.  Pick two of the strongest/most skilled characters you've encountered in your readings. Which one would win in a fight? (For example, Harry Potter vs. Katniss Everdeen) Penryn from Angelfall by Susan Ee vs. Sage from The False Prince by Jennifer E. Neilson. Penryn would win because she know all the Martial Arts, Taekwondo, and others I can't name at the moment. She fought a guy in the book.

6.  Favorite pairing? Penryn and Raffe from Angelfall by Susan Ee

7.  If you could have any character come live with you for a month, who would you choose and why?

8.  How do you decide which book to read next? It depends on my mood. But now I'm going to do a Book Jar to pick a book because I got many books to read and sometimes I don't know what to read next.

9.  Do you have any books that you've been embarrassed about reading? Nope

10.  Which two authors would you pair up to write a book? What do you think the book would be about?

11.  There is a frog, dead in the middle of an island. If he swims north, the distance to the mainland is 2 metres. If he swims south, the distance to the mainland is 3 metres. If he swims east or west, the distance is 4 metres. Which way does he swim? OK, at first I'm like what kind of question is this? Am I in school? I was going to put the mainland cause its closer until I read it again and seen 'DEAD'. LOL. good trick.

Follow the Yellow Book Road Questions

1) If you could meet one book character who would it be and why?

3) What is your favorite social media website? Tumblr

4) What is the first book that you remember reading? I remember reading Blue is for Nightmares by Laurie Faria Stolarz in the 9th Grade. A teacher was kind enough to take some students to Barnes & Noble to pick a book and buy us it. It was something for reading and the school wanted us reading on the trains when we went on field trips. The field trips was fun but we had to do work. Anyway I still own this book and want to read it again because its been so long and I found out its a series. I remember liked it too.

10) If you could only recommend one book to people for the rest of your life, which book would it be?  This is so HARD. Ummmm, Golden Boy by Abigail Tarttelin. This book is good for Young Adults and Adults to read.

11) If you were an animal, what would you be? A Fox

-----------------------------------------------------------------

My Questions

1) What book series or trilogy do you want to read next?
